Well, I have now voted in my first presidential election. It's kind of sad, at 28, to have never voted for president before. I mean, I've voted before, just not in a presidential election. There were reasons. Maybe not very good ones, but it just never worked out before. I was away at school for both elections since I turned 18 and it all had to do with absentee ballots. The first time, I never registered to get one. The last time, I registered but never got the ballot. Then when I was cleaning out my dorm room in January, lo and behold, on my desk under a bunch of crap, was a pile of mail I'd never seen before and in one of the envelopes was my absentee ballot.
So now I've voted for president. And on some other issues, like proposal 2 which would amend the state’s constitution to provide “the union of one man and one woman in marriage shall be the only agreement recognized as a marriage or similar union for any purpose.” I've done my patriotic duty.
